The next 10 episodes of Bluey season three are landing on Disney+ on January 12, 2024
Crikey! The long-awaited next batch of Bluey season three episodesare making their way to Disney+! What feels like forever ago, BBC Studios and Disney first announced that the show would be returning for a third season set to premiere on Disney Channel, Disney Junior, and Disney+ in all territories outside of Australia, New Zealand, and China. But parents and kids immediately noticed that there were fewer episodes compared to seasons past.
According to The Independent, it was always the plan to release season three in two batches. The first half was dropped in the form of 25 episodes on August 10th, 2022, followed by a surprise drop in July 2023. But now… there’s more! The newest set of episodes is set to debut on Disney+ on January 12, 2024, and will continue to feature beloved pint-sized heroine Bluey, an energetic six-year-old Heeler who lives with her dad, mum, and four-year-old little sister, Bingo.
Per Bluey.tv, viewers will tag along on a relaxing family trip to the beach, a quest to find a dragon, and a friendly neighborhood game of cricket. There are also hints about a backyard workout session and a new waterslide (what could go wrong?!) One thing’s for sure: There will be plenty of meaningful messages woven throughout all the silly hijinks. Take a look at the newest season three episodes in the following trailer:

As if the new batch wasn’t exciting enough, there’s also a special 28-minute episode, entitled ‘The Sign’, dropping sometime in 2024. It will air globally on the ABC in Australia and Disney+ around the world, but we’ll have to keep a watchful eye for an exact arrival date.

However, with All Hallows Eve falling on a Tuesday this year, trick-or-treating won’t likely start until the grown-ups are home from work. Considering that late timing—plus the ever-present threat of snow in October—it might make sense for parents of little kids to take their pint-size ghouls and goblins to one of the formally organized daytime events on the weekend prior.
Whatever your family decides to do, there are frights and delights from A to Z (or, rather, Andersonville to Lincoln Park Zoo)—so many, in fact, that you might need a second bag to carry your candy haul. We know which neighborhoods and events you should hit this Halloween to find the fewest tricks and the best treats. These 15 spots throughout Chicago are guaranteed to be well worth a costumed visit.
Buena Park Long before the pandemic inspired candy givers to get creative with their distribution tactics, the Booena Park Safe Trick-or-Treating event always went above and beyond to make trick-or-treating uniquely interactive. Case in point, the use of dryer hoses to send candy down from upper-level units. Since the pandemic they have only upped their game and have been encouraged to do so again this year with prizes for the scariest house and best overall house. Gold Coast Visit the over-the-top, professionally decorated mansions on Goethe Street from Dearborn to Astor. Here you will find full-size candy bars and even plush toys as the generous treats being passed out.
Andersonville At Aville-o-Ween, you can get a head-start on Halloween. On Oct. 28th from 12 p.m.-3 p.m. families can trick-or-treat all along the Andersonville Business District on Clark St. Businesses will had out a variety of regular candy, gluten-free candy, nut-free candy, and even small toys. Hyde Park
Year-round, Hyde Park has that East Coast autumn vibe, and Halloween is when it really shines. The setting of hordes of kids going mansion door to mansion door of the tree-lined streets could be taken straight out of a Hollywood movie. Check out Harper Avenue between 57th and 59th Streets. Go early to avoid the crowds!
Lakeview While Lakeview is another great area in which to trick-or-treat come Halloween night, there are two organized events before Old Hallow's Eve not to be missed. Trick-or-Treat on Southport will take place one day earlier on October 30th from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. In addition to trick-or-treating at local businesses, there will be other family-friendly activities including a DJ, inflatables, and a pumpkin patch. There's even a craft beer tent and lots of business discounts for the well-deserving parents!
On Oct. 29th, from 12 p.m.-3 p.m. join The Little Monsters Crawl around the streets of Lakeview, (mostly Clark St. and Broadway), to collect candy and treats, for all ages, from local businesses.
Lincoln Park Burling St., located between Fullerton and Diversey, blocks off party-style on Halloween night, offering visiting trick-or-treaters a night of fun and candy galore. Your best bet is to hop on a bus, or jump on the "L" as evening parking can be tricky. This is destination trick-or-treating at its finest; it's particularly fun to get a glimpse of the homes all open and welcoming to the sounds and little feet of kids on the spookiest, silliest night of the year.
On Oct. 21st from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. (or while supplies last), the Lincoln Park Zoo will host a free Spooky Zoo event. This year’s event will offer trick-or-treating on zoo grounds and family-friendly entertainment.
Lincoln Square/Ravenswood Ravenswood has become known for its "full-size chocolate bar houses." Even kids from neighboring Lincoln Square flock to the streets of Ravenswood to score these rare finds. Check the week's weather forecast, and if its not looking too good for Halloween night, head to Lincoln Scared Ravenswoooood on Sunday, Oct. 29th from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. when participating businesses in both Lincoln Square and Ravenswood will be passing out candy. Check the Chamber of Commerce's website for maps for both neighborhoods.
Logan Square Bernard Street between Fullerton and Wrightwood might as well be deemed the honorary Halloween-town. Families go all out in decorating their homes for the season. People travel in from far and wide on the 31st to admire the spectacle and get in on all that candy!
NorthCenter On Oct. 28th, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., don your most creative costume and hit the streets of Lincoln, Damen, and Irving in NorthCenter to collect sweet treats and other prizes. Pick up your map, and drop of non-perishable food and toiletry donations for Common Pantry, at the NorthCenter Town Square. Be sure to return back to the square for the annual costume contests, refreshments, and free Halloween-themed crafts with Macaroni KID.
River North Visit Navy Pier on Oct. 28th from 12 p.m.-8 p.m. for a Slightly Spooky Saturday, including its free Trick-or-Treat Bonanza. Over 70 candy stations around the pier will be stocked with Ferrara Candy. There will be lots more family entertainment including live performances, arts and crafts, Halloween science experiments and more. You can ever enter your pet into its own costume contest.
Rogers Park Check out the free Family Full Moon Halloween Fest on Jarvis Square on Oct. 28th from 3 p.m.-8 p.m. Wear your costumes for a Halloween candy hunt, as well as family entertainment including a stilt walker, jugglers, drummers, a face painter, and a tarot card reader. There will also be LED "fire" throwing and free s'mores around a firepit.
Roscoe Village One of the most family-friendly neighborhoods in Chicago, Roscoe Village is the perfect place to spend Halloween night. Most blocks are lined with side-by-side, single-family homes, making it easy to earn a handsome loot without too much walking. You'll find the owners of said houses, gathered together by outdoor fire pits in this tight-knit community, enjoying the evening as much as the kids. If you want to get a head-start on the Trick-or-Treating, join the Roscoe Village Halloween Block Party on Sunday, Oct. 22nd from 12 p.m.-6 p.m. Roscoe Street will be closed to traffic while businesses between Damen and Hoyne will be handing out candy to all the costumed creatures. You'll also find kid's activities in the center of the road.

This year, around 175 million Americans will celebrate Halloween. On a Tuesday. As a parent of two children, I can tell you that a weekday Halloween is very tough for families with young kids. As a CEO in the celebrations industry, I can also tell you that when October 31 falls on a weeknight, fewer people celebrate the holiday.
Sometimes I like to ask obvious questions and challenge the way things are done. When people say, “That’s the way we’ve always done it,” I perk up and question their assumptions. I want to know “Is there a better way?” and “Will more people be served with a different solution?”
When it comes to Halloween, I believe there is a better way. The time is long overdue for a cultural change that will benefit society: the official observance of Halloween should be on the last Saturday of October.
Why does Halloween have to be on the 31st of every year? There are many other holidays that aren’t tied to a specific date. Thanksgiving is always the fourth Thursday in November. The same is true for Memorial Day (the last Monday in May) and Labor Day (the first Monday in September).
Halloween is mostly a kids’ and family holiday, and it should fall on a day that is best for kids and families! Not convinced about #SaturdayHalloween? Here are five reasons Halloween should be observed on the last Saturday of October.
It’s healthier for kids (and parents)
Halloween is arguably the most kid-focused holiday of the entire year, and we observe it on a school night eight out of every 10 years. Who wants to get home from work, stress about dinner, try to wrangle kids into costumes, and then be out trick-or-treating way past normal bedtime? It’s all too chaotic for most families.
The next day is a mess, too. Kids wake up the next morning overtired, and parents drag themselves to work. When Halloween is observed on a Saturday, not only will it be better for kids, but it will also be better for the sanity of parents.
It’s better for schools and teachers
When October 31 falls on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, students lose not just one, but two days of productivity. Halloween itself is full of distractions, but the next day is even more challenging.
Teachers have to manage a classroom of kids who have been out all night trick-or-treating and eating candy for lunch. The combination of lack of sleep and dealing with sugar-infused children is difficult. Halloween on a Saturday solves all of this. Plus, schools can schedule their Halloween parades and events on a Friday afternoon, which will help teachers better manage their class schedules. Saturday Halloween is the right thing to do for schools and teachers.
It’s safer
Halloween is a family holiday. Its most important cultural ritual is trick-or-treating. In my own neighborhood in Massachusetts, hundreds of families flock to the most popular streets downtown that are full of cars returning home from work.
If we observe Halloween on a Saturday, trick-or-treating could begin earlier in the evening before nightfall. Local authorities could block roads to protect the busiest neighborhoods. Accidents and fatalities would be reduced. It’s time we reduce possible danger and celebrate Halloween on a Saturday.
Families can celebrate together
The majority of parents work outside the home, and a weekday Halloween makes it difficult for families to celebrate together. A weekend holiday would suit working families and enable celebrations for the whole family. Extended family could gather as they do for other major holidays, and special memories can be made.
At Punchbowl, we have the data: there are more Halloween parties on Saturday than on any other day of the week. Let’s enable even more get-togethers and family celebrations on this important, memorable holiday.
When Halloween falls on a Saturday, it generates more revenue for the economy than weekday Halloweens. More costumes are purchased, more parties are planned, and more food and beverages are consumed. This means more jobs and higher wages, too.
Party City reported $22 million less in sales when comparing 2016 (a Saturday Halloween) to 2017 (a Monday Halloween). The impact extends to local businesses as well. If we move the official observance of Halloween to the last Saturday of October, it would not only bolster local business, but it would also provide predictability from year to year.
There are many more reasons that Halloween should be moved to the last Saturday in October and very few we should continue the old tradition of October 31. The time has come to move our national celebration of Halloween.

Come out and skate where to pros skate—the Winterhawks Skating Center. You don’t need to be a professional ice hockey player to skate here; they share the ice. Get out of the city and take a trip over to Beaverton for some slippery fun, especially because the skate rental is free. Admission is $20, but if you have little ones who are 5 years and younger, don’t worry about paying—they skate for free. Be sure to stop by their concession stand for some snacks in between loops around the rink, or grab a hot cocoa for an added touch of the holiday feel.
Sherwood Ice Arena coins themselves as “the coolest place in town”, and they aren’t wrong. With a whole host of times for different kinds of sessions (freestyle, adult skills, pick-up hockey, etc.), this ice rink has something to offer for the whole family. Public skate sessions are available nearly every day, so grab the kids and hop in the car for a cute, cool, cozy outing on the ice.

This tree lighting will definitely be lit. Join Martin’s Park in celebrating the holiday season with their annual Ship Lighting. Your kids will love seeing Santa arriving by boat. Enjoy Martin’s Park with hot cocoa, caroling, and holiday fun of all kinds.
Drive to Sommerville with the aid of the Illuminations Tour Map to find the town's most festive houses. Decked in lights from porch to rooftop, these folks go out to create holiday light displays Boston folks return to see year after year. Holiday caroling in planned for December 15, and the map is expected to release on December 8.
8. Winterlights at Stevens-Coolidge House & Garden
Winterlights is back with some of the best holiday lights Boston has to offer. And the Stevens-Coolidge House and Gardens is just one of three beautiful properties that will sparkle with thousands of shimmering, artfully designed Christmas lights. Start with the Basic Facts about Memorial Day
In a nutshell, Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for those who have died in military service. Originally called Decoration Day because a procession would lead to a cemetery where the graves of fallen soldiers would be decorated with flowers—a common practice among people for generations before it “caught on” as an official holiday. It didn’t become an official US holiday until 1966. After World War I, the holiday was changed to honor all those who had died during military service (not just during the Civil War). In 1971 congress changed the date to be the last Monday in May to ensure a three-day weekend.

Playing a simple memory game with the kids, or talking about any person, place or event you remember can help start the conversation about remembrance.
What is the military?
Ask the kiddos if they’ve heard of the Army, Navy, Airforce, Marines and Coast Guard.This is the military. The military is part of our government and is made up of people who have agreed to join the Army, Navy, Airforce, Marines or Coast Guard, to become part of this branch of the government. They are trained for many situations, including emergencies at home. Their goal is to protect people who live in their country (and elsewhere).
Do you know the difference between them and what special skills or equipment they use? (As in airplanes, naval ships, etc.)
Kids can draw or find items in the house that represent the different military branches.
Know Your Kids
If you’ve already talked with your kids about death, you can use comparisons with how you remember a deceased family member or if you have a family member serving in the military, you can help make the connection to the significance of the holiday. Unlike Veteran’s Day, which is a day to thank any veteran—living or dead—Memorial Day is a tribute to the many men and women who have served the country and died during service. This does not mean they died in a war, but rather that they served.
Visiting a cemetery is a common way to pay tribute, and many cities and towns across America still have Memorial Day parades that lead to the cemetery where flowers are laid on the military graves. If your town doesn’t, we’re betting you can still find a military grave (or a few dozen) in your local cemetery. Bring a few flowers or small flags, and go looking.

The US suffered a great many lives lost in the Civil War. On May 1, 1865, African-Americans in Charleston held a remembrance parade and rally followed by picnicking, military drills for the public and speeches—one of the first examples of our modern traditions. Not long after, General John Logan, a commander of the Grand Army of the Republic, made an official declaration that fallen Civil War soldiers would be honored on Decoration Day, which would be held on May 30th, 1868. Throughout the country, flowers, mementos and other decorations were placed in cemeteries and on graves. At Arlington National Cemetery, the first Decoration Day included a speech by General James Garfield (who would later become the 20th president of the US) and the decorating of 20,000 graves by the more than 5,000 people who had gathered.
Why May 30th? It seems it was a “safe” day, as it didn’t have any connection to an existing battle’s anniversary. More than two dozen towns lay claim to the first Memorial Day. In 1966 then-President Lyndon Johnson said officially it was Waterloo, NY but the debate remains. New York was, however, the first state to recognize the day officially (in 1873). Eventually, it became the last Monday in May, rather than May 30th.
Wearing red poppies in honor of the men and women who have died in combat was started in the 1920s by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). Today buying a red paper poppy for your lapel goes to help the efforts of the VFW, the American Legion and other military support groups. The poppy comes from the poem “In Flander’s Field” by WWI Col. John McCrae, who wrote it in response to his sorrow over seeing row after row of soldier’s graves.

Things to Do: When you're ready to dust off the sand (kind of), the best thing to do on Tybee is get out and explore the waterways. A sea kayak trip will have you paddling past oyster beds and exploring the undeveloped Little Tybee Island, where you'll see wildlife in it's truly natural form. Visit Tybee Island Light Station to climb the oldest and tallest lighthouse in the state for fantastic views of the Savannah River—and sometimes, Hilton Head. And don't leave without a visit to the Marine Science Center for year-round programs on the beach, in the marsh, on the water, in the classroom, and at their Coastal Georgia Gallery.

Things to Do: With over 12 miles of sparking sand beaches—public beach access and parking is abundant if your hotel or rental isn’t beach adjacent—the first thing you're going to want to do is slather on some sunscreen and play in the surf. Coligny Beach Park (12 S. Forest Beach Dr.) has earned a reputation for being one of the most fam-friendly beaches due to their fabulous fountain (perfect for cooling off), clean bathrooms and swings in the shade. Hard-packed beaches and paved public pathways, means that Hilton Head Island is heaven on earth for bike enthusiasts. Rent a bike for a day or a week and have it delivered (and picked up) at your location. Be sure to ride your bike on the beach at low tide for an unforgettable experience.
Recently voted the number one favorite beach town by Travel and Leisure, St. Simon's Island is laid back fun with a small town vibe. Similar to Hilton Head, the hard-packed sandy beaches are perfect for strolling, biking, and building sandcastles in. And with a dedicated business district, you've got lots of options for dining and entertainment, too.
Things to Do: In addition to the beach and biking that should be at the top of your list, a visit to Fort Frederica National Monument—a Georgia State Park historical site that was once a thriving community in colonial Georgia—offers a nice history lesson and break from the beach. Or perhaps get on the water with the Lady Jane Shrimp Boat to trawl through the marshes to discover the spoils of the sea: pufferfish, huge sting rays, and even a few shrimp have been known to find their ways on board.
Beach vacations with babes in tow score bonus points when they offer up a little something more than sand. And with miles of wide, flat beaches, bike trails through Spanish-moss covered live oaks, and wildlife interactions at world-class facilities, Jekyll Island is a family vacation jackpot only four-and-a-half hours from Atlanta.
Things to Do: While any of the beaches on Jekyll Island are sure to please, don't pass up a chance to take the littles to Driftwood Beach. Located on the north end of the island, it's dotted with sun-bleached, beached, and gorgeous remains of live oaks that are as beautiful as they are entertaining to climb on. Jekyll is also home to Georgia’s only rehabilitation center for endangered sea turtles. The Georgia Sea Turtle Center offers eco-experiences led by biologists and researchers about sea turtle nesting and monitoring, and the American alligator.
Historically know for being the spring break destination for colleges across the southeast, this panhandle community will surprise you with its abundance of family friendly attractions and will wow you with its beautiful turquoise water.
Things to Do: After you get your fill of the sugar-white sands and gentle gulf waves, take the crew to Beachfront Adventures for off-road buggies and zip lines, ropes courses, go karts, mini golf, an aqua maze and more. To keep the adrenaline going, you might opt for a helicopter tour of the coast, or perhaps an airboat ecotour.
