WubbaNub is doing its part to help The Children’s Heart Foundation. According to the organization, almost 40,000 babies are born with Congenital Heart Defects (CHD) every year in the United States, with 25% of them needing surgeries or other solutions to survive.

The Heart Warrior Collection by WubbaNub is an annual lineup that helps support babies born with CHD, with a portion of proceeds going to The Children’s Heart Foundation. This year it’s made up of The Heart Warrior Bear pacifier and lovey.

Both products come with a scar across his chest, just like the tiny heart warrior babies they support.

Carla Schneider, Founder and CEO of WubbaNub shares “We hope this will bring all the little heart warriors and their families some soothing comfort and joy when they need it most.”

Each WubbaNub is made with a medical grade, latex free pacifier that is BPA, PVC and Phthalate-Free. The plush animals help babies use the pacifiers on their own, and each one is hand or machine washable.

You can start shopping The Heart Warrior Collection on Feb. 7 starting at $15.99 each on WubbaNubOnline.com.

Your kiddos have mid-winter cabin fever and are begging to play ball—inside. Now they can! Ollyball is an award-winning toy and it’s made specifically for indoor use.

When the husband and wife creators of the Ollyball needed a way to keep their kids busy inside, minus the indoor destruction a soccer ball or baseball can cause, they took matters into their own hands.

With no other option already on the market, the duo built their own ball. Five years later the Ollyball was born! Made from a lightweight shell (it’s also PVC, Latex, BPA and phthalate-free) and the patented KrunchCOR interior, the ball is made for full-force indoor play.

So how does Ollyball work and, more importantly, why won’t it destroy your home with one volleyball-like spike? Even though the ball is full size, it only weighs 19 grams. If you’re not sure exactly how light 10 grams is, it’s less than one ounce. In comparison, a soccer ball weighs an average of about 16 ounces, according to Ollyball’s website. To use the ball, simply inflate it with the included straw.

Not only does the innovative light-weight design allow for indoor play, but it’s also washable and your kiddo can color (with permanent markers or crayons) on the outer shell.

To order the Ollyball, visit the brand’s website here.

10 Rainbow School Supplies You Can Snag on Amazon Right Now

At Red Tricycle, the most cutting-edge gear for babies and kids is totally our jam. In order to bring you the best in new & cool, we hit up the 2016 ABC Kids Expo in Las Vegas and it did not disappoint. Read on to discover the color trend you’ll be seeing everywhere in 2017, learn which toys will be a smash hit with kids, and get the heads up on gear you’ll actually use.

Trends for 2017

Expect to see these trends in the new year.

photo: courtesy @lunchesandlittles via Instagram

Gray is having a heyday.
Gray is here to stay. It was a constant theme at ABC; the classic hue will hit the kids and baby market in full force in 2017. The new JETT stroller line from Nuna is offered in cool gray hues, the new 3DTote Convenience Stroller (available in January 2017 at Amazon and Target) from Summer Infant will sport a gray and black design, and the reversible play mats from Lollaland (featuring a contemporary, geometric pattern on one side and a kid-friendly, playful pattern on the other) are now offered in gray. In mid-November, Skip Hop will launch a six-piece baby gift set in soft grays; we also spotted nursing pillows from Nursie, teething toys from Zoli, and sippy cups from Drink a Duex, all dressed up in chic shades of gray.

Collaborations are so hot right now.
We dig a good collab. Seems like other folks do too: There were a few exciting projects between style mavens and baby/kids gear companies at ABC this year. One that stood out was the Rachel Zoe for Maxi-Cosi line—infant seat, car seat, stroller, and diaper bag—designed by style guru Rachel Zoe. Admittedly luxe, the gear had leather accents and white (gasp!) fabric, but still kept comfort, utility, and safety a priority.

Another cool collaboration we spotted was mega-hot graphic design company Tokidoki, paired up with not one, but two different brands! The company lent its larger-than-life, fun characters (the unicorns and cactus friends are particularly awesome) to Zoli’s food and beverage containers, and it paired up with Itzy Ritzy (launching January 2017) to add its cult-status graphics to the popular reusable snack bags.

Forget one of everything. Get one that DOES everything.
It used to be that new parents needed one of everything. These days, to maximize space and convenience, parents need one that does everything. We thought the new Tuo high chair (available December 2016) from Skip Hop was a modern parents dream. Stylish and functional, when baby is ready to make the move to toddler chair, simply shorten the legs and ditch the tray. Bonus points for the easy-clean, reversible seat pad. The Splash n’ Store (available December 2016) from Summer Infant also caught our eye for it’s multi-stage, fold-up-and-store features.

Silicon is the new plastic.
Forget BPA-free plastic. The newest material for eating, drinking, bathing, and even playing is silicone. Yup, it’s bendable, dishwasher, microwave and oven safe, is hypo-allergenic and PVC, BPA, BPS and phthalate free. The Brushies is a brightly colored set of finger puppets that double as toothbrushes. Designed by two moms, a dentist and a child psychologist, this new toy-and-book set gives parents a whole new outlook on oral hygiene. EZPZ caught our eyes with its fun and colorful line of happy mats, bowls, and play mats (available December 2016). Marcus & Marcus had a brand-new line of bath toys (available December 2016) at ABC: Mold-free submarines and rockets in bright, fun colors featuring their signature animal friends. Silikids will soon have their new bowl/plate combo on the market. The fun colors, multiple functions, and cool design are ideal for busy parents.

Other Cool Products That Caught Our Eye

There were many other cool and innovative products at ABC. Here are a few that really stood out.

Green Toys – Farm Playset
From the maker of your kiddo’s favorite upcycled tea set, trucks and boats comes a new line of pretend play toys, including the Farm Playset, which was a 2016 ABC Kids Expo award winner. The farm set comes with 13 pieces, including animals and a farmer— we’re betting you’ll see it on hot toy gift guides this year.

Dr. Brown’s – Options Bottle
The easy-flow bottles moms know and love got a makeover in 2016. The new Options Bottle allows parents to choose whether or not they want to deal with the vent parts. Can you say genius?

Janod – The Fantastic Castle
The french toy company has launched its latest adorable imaginary cardboard world, the Fantastic Castle. The 16-piece puzzle comes with 10 wooden accessories, and 8 cardboard accessories. The intricate illustrations and fold-up, stow-away capabilities caught our eye!

Keen – The Moxie Collection
Keen shoes are known for sturdy construction and easy-on-easy-off capabilities. We got a peek at the new Moxie Collection (Spring/Summer 2017) and if you’ve got girls who love to be active but still love style and fun colors, this will be the one shoe you buy for summer and maybe even keep through fall.

Tegu – Sticky Monsters
Tegu will launch their latest line of magnetic blocks—Sticky Monsters—just in time for the holidays (December 2016). They come with fun names like Zip Zap, Finklebear, and Marbles, have bright, bold pieces, and are compatible with all other Tegu blocks. If you already have a growing collection, these new friends will be a cool addition. If you’ve never bought Tegu blocks before, this is a good place to start.

Innobaby – The Robot
This brand-new teether is made from TPE—a non-toxic, high quality food grade material. Every Innobaby teether are bisphenol-A (BPA) free, phthalate free, pvc free, lead free and latex free.

Finally, after enduring all of the drooling and crankiness of teething, Baby’s first tooth is here! Now what? If you haven’t started brushing yet, now is the time. Lucky for your little, there’s a brand new toothbrush you’ve gotta have: FOREO’s ISSA mikro.

Why Does Baby Need a Power Toothbrush?

The ISSA mikra electric toothbrush is designed just for kids ages 0 to 4. And why should a child that young have a power toothbrush? Until you’ve tried it, you might not understand how tough it can be to throughly brush a baby’s teeth. With this brush, you’ll know that every second you can get a brush in his little mouth, this brush is doing the most thorough job possible. The soft silicone bristles and sonic vibrations work together to gently and safely clean your baby’s teeth. And if that’s not enough, the sheer novelty of having a buzzing brush may peak your baby’s interest in dental care, which can sometimes be quite a feat.

Teething Relief

Even before your little one’s first tooth sprouts, he’ll probably love this brush. The sonic power provides gentle vibrations that’ll soothe your little ones gums and the soft material provides relief during teething from the first tooth all the way through those pesky canines and molars.

Talk About Clean

The one-piece design is made from safe silicone that’s BPA-free and phthalate-free. Silicone also happens to be bacteria-resistant and 10,000 times more hygienic than nylon, which typically makes up a toothbrush’s bristles. Makes sense for something you’re sticking in your baby’s mouth a few times a day, right?

Available for pre-order on Indiegogo.com, $89, shipping this month.

Waking up to feed baby at 2 a.m. is one of those labors of love. We found a few things that will wipe the sleep dust from your eyes, day or night. Just introduced to the market are three innovations that will help you get organized and be more perky at feeding time. Go ahead — latch on to these new products.

photo: Eepples MilkCharms

For Breastmilk Storage & Organization: Eepples MilkCharms
Beyond their pretty appearance, these charms serve a super-useful purpose: They take the worry out of wondering if your breast milk is still fresh. Their original tracking system features a double-sided dial that tracks both time and day. When you pop your milk in the fridge, “log” this information and you’ll be able to easily plan when to use the milk. The simple charms work on any bottle and can also come in handy for formula, baby food or even your Mom and Dad’s dinner leftovers. Bonus: They are BPA- and phthalate-free and dishwasher safe. Available online at eepples.com; $14.99/pack of three.

photo: Babymoov Nutribaby

For Easy Food Processing: Babymoov Nutribaby
This gadget is notable for a few reasons: It’s an award winner from the French company Babymoov, which just launched in the U.S.; and it does five things in one. You’ll marvel at all of its smooth moves. It warms, sterilizes, defrosts, steams and blends — and all you have to do is use a digital screen to get those functions going. We love the two cooking baskets, which allow you to prepare different ingredients at their optimal cooking time, at the same time. (Just start with the foods that need to cook the longest, then add the other ingredients to the second basket when needed.) The LCD screen guides you through each process, so you don’t need to futz with a manual. After all, you have better things to do, like juggle a baby with your other hand! Available online at diapers.com, $119.

photo: UpSpring Milkflow

For Milk Production: UpSpring’s Milkflow
If herbal remedies interest you, here’s something to add to your pantry. You may have heard that fenugreek, a white-flowered herbaceous plant with aromatic seeds, can increase your milk supply. Maybe you’ve even tried pills or chugged elixirs to get your dose. This new supplement offers something different: a berry-flavored fenugreek mix that you simply add to water. It’s also contains blessed thistle (a plant often used in tandem with fenugreek to boost lactation) and anise (an herb with a licorice-like taste). It’s recommended to take twice a day and is all natural, gluten-free, non-GMO and vegan. Available online at upspringbaby.com, $14.99/pack of 18.

What’s shaped  and sized like a can of soda, but filled with the healthy drink of your choice? Beatrix New York’s brilliantly adorable new Cozy Cans. These cute little beverage containers aren’t your average sippy cup and they just might curb those cries for the fizzy stuff. Here’s why.

A New Kind of Straw Cup

Combine a stainless steel water bottle, straw cup and soda can and you’ve got a Cozy Can. While they look like one of the cutest soda cans we’ve ever seen – and they’re just as fun to drink out of we might add – they’re really a refillable, eco-friendly straw cup made from food grade stainless steel.

You can’t pop the tab like a can of Coca-Cola, but you can pop off (or screw off) the top, which is brilliantly equipped with a built-in straw making them spill proof for on-the-go use. What goes inside is you and your child’s choice. Fill it with your homemade Soda Stream creations, juice, water, a smoothie or even hot cocoa. This cup is insulated too – keeping cold drinks cold and hot drinks hot. And of course, they’re BPA- and phthalate-free, natch!

Select Your Sipper

Let your kid take his pick from five cool can designs: ladybug, rocket, owl, ocean animals and dinosaurs. Each one has a clever soda-style name too from Bubbly Bug to Ocean Potion. Another fun aspect is that the characters featured on Cozy Cans are the same ones that appear on Beatrix New York’s other products. So if you need a lunch bag or backpack to go with your travel cup, you can create a coordinating set.

Order your kid a Beatrix New York Cozy Can online at beatrixny.com for $22.50.
