This Advent calendar is a top seller at Trader Joe’s for the holiday season

Run, don’t walk to your closest Trader Joe’s. The grocer’s annual 12 Days of Beauty Advent Calendar is back for 2023!

Our editors spied the famed Trader Joe’s 12 Days of Beauty on Nov. 8, and it’s packed with plenty of must-have products. This coveted calendar tends to sell out before Thanksgiving, so if you’re in the market for one, act fast.

As soon as you bring this cutie into your car, the dreamy aroma of citrus will take over and you’ll be glad you nabbed it.

What will you find inside Trader Joe’s 12 Days of Beauty Advent calendar?

  • Lavender bath salts
  • Brazil nut hair mask
  • Gingerbread cookie moisturizing lip balm
  • Brown sugar carob lip scrub
  • Sweet nectarine scented ultra moisturizing hand cream
  • Neroli bamboo scented shave cream
  • Cake batter scented body butter
  • Orange popsicle scented exfoliating sugar scrub cube
  • Rice polish face cleansing powder
  • Vitamin C firming body butter
  • Yuzu bath fizzer
  • Daily facial sunscreen broad spectrum SPF 40

You can find the calendar in the beauty aisle of your local Trader Joe’s for $19.99—but not for long. This one is very popular!

While we were there, we also spied this year’s 12 Days of Scented Candles Advent Calendar for $29.99. We love this option along with the chocolate Advent calendars priced at just $1.99 and the Advent calendars for pets.

Keep an eye out for other holiday favorites that have been trickling in. All the elves on your list will want a bottle of Peppermint, Gingerbread, or Egg Nog Liqueur—perfect for all those holiday cocktails you’ll be mixing up. Felted wool trivets have been hitting the shelves, along with dog toys, holiday snacks, and the scented candle trio.

Cross your fingers that year’s felted wool garlands will come in the mini size again as we loved pairing them with our Elf on the Shelf along with those mini totes they sold last month. Get ready, Instagram!

All the Who’s down in Whoville couldn’t possibly come up with a more adorable holiday plant than Trader Joe’s Grump Tree.

Whether you’re feeling a little Grinchy or you’re short on space to decorate, these adorable little trees are the perfect accent to warm your home and your heart. The skinny evergreen Cyprus trees are wrapped in a red ribbon and topped with a single red ornament.

The trees are tiny now, but just like the Grinch’s heart they can easily triple in size if you plant and nurture them after the holiday season is over.

The Grump trees are now available at Trader Joe’s nationwide for $9.99 each.

A spooky house has never looked so delicious

The seasonal Trader Joe’s Halloween Haunted House Cookie Kit has arrived! The ultra-popular treat has returned just in time for the spooky season and is the perfect tradition. The fan fave has been around for several years and is as tasty as it is cute. Why wait until Christmas when you can build your own cookie house for Halloween?

The $7.99 kit comes with everything you need to make a spooky and chocolatey haunted house. The box contains seven chocolate cookies to form the house, pre-made black and orange icing, and tons of candy goodies in fun shapes like bones and bats. Good luck constructing your house before eating it!

The box contains some brief instructions on assembling the house, but after that, it’s up to you to make your house as creepy crawly as you want it! You can probably find the kit on an end cap with Joe-Joes or some other Halloween-themed treats from Trader Joe’s.

Want to kick it up a notch? We love the creative take from @paperstreetparlour, who uses royal icing to completely transform this kit into an uber-spooky (and fancy) house!

Related: Pumpkin Products Have Arrived at Trader Joe’s

Trader Joe’s Halloween haunted house cookie kit is perfect for people who don’t love gingerbread—and also for any of us who just can’t wait to get in the festive Halloween spirit!

While you’re at your local market, be sure to check out all the fall products, including tons of pumpkin goodies. Before heading in, be sure to check out all the amazing spooky plants hanging out in the garden department, like skeleton yogis and air plant ghouls!

The company that makes the plants for Trader Joe’s has confirmed they will be returning for 2022

Run, don’t walk to your closest Trader Joe’s––yoga skeletons have returned! The spooky yogis have been a hit for several years now, selling out whenever they were in stock and this year is bound to be the same.

LiveTrends Design Group is the creator of the cult-classic design that involves three poses with an air plant on top and has shared that they are returning exclusively to Trader Joe’s this year. Even though Halloween is still quite some time away, you’ll want to pick up the trio stat.

Last year, each plant retailed for $6.99 so we’re assuming the price would be similar (though perfectly possible it would be more given how expensive everything is right now). You can find them in the garden section or perhaps with other seasonal goodies.

The yoga skeletons come with air plants as hair and in the lotus, lotus with hands to heart and lotus with hands above head poses. We didn’t know skeletons could be cute but we stand corrected!

Since it’s still August, it may take time for the planters to roll out to every Trader Joe’s store. Plus, let’s be honest, not everyone lives within driving distance to one of the famed neighborhood markets.

If that’s the case, there are other retailers that do their best to mimic the design. We found a five-pack of two-inch yogis from Amazon for $29 that are arranged in the camel pose, pigeon pose, easy pose, twist pose, and king pigeon pose. While they don’t have the air plant element, they are pretty spooktacular.

If you prefer the darker side of Halloween, Joann sells a black skeleton that sits almost five inches high in the lotus pose for just $12. Since the Halloween season hasn’t even technically started, we are just getting started with all the creepy and crawly decor. Boo!

Valentine’s Day just got sweeter—at Costco! The warehouse club has Le Chic Patissier’s heart-shaped macarons back in stock, just in time for the holiday.

The fab French-inspired foodie find was already spotted by Instagram user @costcosisters as early as Jan. 8 and we’re about ready to head to the warehouse ourselves to grab a box or two.

Fans of the petite treats may remember Le Chic Patissier’s strawberry-vanilla and raspberry macarons from year’s past. These Valentine’s Day goodies feature vanilla and raspberry flavors. Le Chic Patissier’s website describes the delish delights as, “Using 100% natural ingredients, we source high-quality vanilla from Madagascar and fresh seasonal fruits for the puree.”

Nab a box of 25 for $12.99 at select Costco retailers while these limited-time sweets are still on store shelves.

At Red Tricycle, there’s nothing that we love more than sharing fun finds with our readers, especially when they are the creative product of our former SF Bay Area Editor! Rachel Teichman has taken her skills honed at Red Tricycle to the bookshelves. Combining her love of writing and bagels, she has written B is for Bagel, an ABC book, and we know you are going to love it.

From Asiago to Za’atar, and “Everything” in between, B is for Bagel teaches the whole alphabet, while introducing children to traditional and innovative bagel flavors. Vibrant photographs of each life-size bagel make turning pages so much fun!

Shake, splash and roll your way through this book, where unicorns and rainbows take their bagel form, and cream cheese knows no limits! Kids will love finding a new favorite bagel, while deciding if they like lox, whitefish salad or maybe just extra schmear.

You can cover the whole alphabet while learning about a popular breakfast food. From A to Z,  there is definitely a bagel for you! And there are even two recipes to try together!

Rachel is working with partner publisher The Collective Book Studio, and is financing the project through her Kickstarter campaign which ends Thursday, September 2, at 9:59pm PDT. You can receive an early signed copy of the book starting with a $25 contribution. There are also many other fabulous rewards available including photo prints, bagel confetti and even rainbow bagel chips.

Rachel lives in Houston and shares this about supporting Easter Seals there: “We are so proud to announce our partnership with The Caroline School at Easter Seals Greater Houston. We have added a new $75 reward level which gives you one book, and lets you donate one book to The Caroline School.”
