An Illinois mom is using her creative side to entertain her daughters. Stacy Lazzara creates fun landscapes for her little ones using sidewalk chalk. Since posting her creations to Facebook she has received a lot of positive responses.

Lazzara said, “I initially picked up our sidewalk chalk as a simple way to have some fun and encourage my kids to play outside during quarantine. Once I posted a couple of the images on my social media accounts, the response was so overwhelmingly positive that I was encouraged to make our artwork an ongoing series.”

Lazzara’s daughters, seven-year-old Ashlyn and four-year-old Averie love participating in their mom’s photo shoots. Lazzara shares that Ashlyn is a natural partner for these projects. Often she will help her mom brainstorm ideas and help color in parts of the designs. Lazzara also has discovered her daughter’s dramatic flair. She said, “Her facial expressions are really key to bringing the final images to life, and I think that’s what people are connecting with the most.”

“There is so much fear and anxiety in the world right now; we love being able to bring a smile to people’s faces. Hearing friends and neighbors say they look forward to each new creation is really humbling and really motivates us to keep creating.”
