It seems like those traditional tween networks are suddenly getting a run for their money. Netflix shows about teenagers are growing in popularity, and that might just mean that your kiddos are turning off Freeform or Nickelodeon and beginning you for their very own streaming service.

The crazy-popular Netflix fave Stranger Things has pretty much wowed straight from the start. So much so that the teen stars are reportedly getting pay bumps that reach up to 10 times what their original contracts were per episode. Whoa!

Oh, but Stranger Things isn’t the only tween/teen-fueled original show on Netflix this season. Nope. Far from it. Along with current hits such as 13 Reasons Why, Everything Sucks and The End of the ____ing World,  shows such as On My Block and Alexa & Katie are also proving to be instant favorites with tweens and teens.

On My Block, which is geared towards the teen audience, has received praise for promoting diversity. The show focuses on four ‘streetwise’ teens who live in rough inner-city L.A. If the coming of age drama isn’t your kiddo’s cup of tea, Alexa & Katie just might be. Even though the show presents as a buddy comedy (ala iCarly) for a new generation, it also has a serious side. Alexa, obviously one of the show’s title characters, is battling cancer. Giving the show some pretty poignant moments. And if you’re a Saved By the Bell or 90210 fan from way back, Tiffani Thiessen stars in this one — as Alexa’s mom.
