With new ones popping up all the time, there’s no better way for foodies young and old to expand and enlighten their palates. We’ve rounded up a few of our favorites. From over-the-top waffles to funky ice cream flavors to a life-changing burger, flip ahead for some of the best meals on wheels in NYC.

Best for American Classics: Yankee Doodle Dandy

Craving some good ole fried American fare? Don’t settle for a mediocre fast food chain. Stick a feather in your cap, and ride on over to the Yankee Doodle Dandy truck. They specialize in chicken tenders, which are served on a sandwich, salad or plate. If tenders aren’t your thing, you can order a chicken club, grilled cheese or burger. The truck also whips up some more creative dishes, such as a chicken egg with a deviled quail egg on top. Don’t leave without trying their Spirit of ‘76 sauce.
