Many months ago, you said goodbye to your pre-parenting life and introduced the world to your new reason for living. The year might have flown by in a blur, but the birthday party doesn’t have to! Whether you want nothing or everything to do with the planning, these 6 locations are sure to send up your favorite one-year-old with all the love and enthusiasm she deserves.

For the All-Weather Carousel Party : Jane’s Carousel

Maybe your January baby can’t have a picnic in the park, but at least all of NYC’s carousels aren’t out of the question. Jane’s Carousel in Dumbo offers year-round party packages because of its handy and gorgeous all-glass carousel pavilion overlooking the East River. During your two-hour event, guests will get to skip the line and ride as often as they like. Though it’s a little more labor intensive (you are responsible for bringing everything besides the tables and chairs, and for cleaning up), there’s nothing as magical as a kid’s first ride on the merry-go-round.
