For Clubs, a Café and Family Game Time : The Brooklyn Strategist

Board games are not only a kid’s past time anymore — you’d be surprised at how many of the board game stores around the city cater specifically to adults. The Brooklyn Strategist brings the fun of board games back to the whole family by including all ages in the shop's activities.

There’s always something to do at the Brooklyn Strategist, even if your knowledge of board games doesn’t extend beyond Scrabble (and yes, you can play that too). After school programs introduce kids of ages five and older to a wide variety of games including war games, role playing games, and much more.

The game selection in these programs, called Clubs, is geared towards teaching age-relevant skills like strategic thinking and good sportsmanship. The Clubs are for the kids only and last 11 weeks at $400.

If you don’t want to be left out of playtime, you can drop in and play with the kids for up to 4 hours on $10. Sip on homemade refreshments while you play any game from a huge variety of board games.
