What’s Cool at this Colossal Play Space

Bounce ‘N Play’s owner, previously owned the now closed, Birthday Zone in Astoria for 13 years, so you can bet she knows how to run a play space. The new spot, which opened in April boasts three large bouncy structures with giant slides, an arcade area, a toddler area, a rock climbing wall and a party room. In the toddler area, you’ll find a tricked out play kitchen, a crawling tunnel, a tree house, a school bus activity center, a child-sized piano and stacking toys. Your kids will love the bounce house of course, but don’t be surprised if they spend ample time making and delivering wooden pizza and ice cream to the kids in the tree house, too.

There’s also a small arcade section adjacent to the toddler area. The change machine takes single dollar bills and spits out tokens for a car game, air hockey and a carousel. The rock climbing wall is not in use during open play times, but if you want to climb, there are dedicated rock climbing sessions.

The attention to detail will keep you coming back. There’s ample seating throughout the space for you to sit while kids play. Plus, the space has a cool modern art piece made of acrylic gummy bears, a comfortable tufted bench in the toddler area shaped like an ice cream sandwich, cold water on demand from the water cooler and an immaculate bathroom with a changing table. The music is cheerful and fun and there’s always a friendly hostess helping on the floor with the kids.
