Friendly and vibrant, Fort Greene, Brooklyn is a neighborhood where artists, young families and life-long residents mingle effortlessly. Famous creatives including Walt Whitman, Erykah Badu and Chris Rock have all called Fort Greene home at one point, so it’s no wonder this section of the borough oozes cool from the cracks in its sidewalks. Easily accessible by subway (N, R, Q to DeKalb; A, C to Lafayette; or G to Fulton St.), and the LIRR (to Atlantic Ave.), Fort Greene is the perfect place for the entire family to eat, play and shop.

Fort Greene Park

A trip to Fort Greene wouldn't be complete without a visit to this beautiful 30-acre park. Take advantage of the two playground spaces, running and biking paths, tennis and basketball courts, or just hang out with a blanket on the lawn.

On Saturdays, you can shop for fresh foods and watch cooking demonstrations at the popular year-round Farmer’s Market. In the warmer months, the park plays host to a variety of free outdoor concerts, including a kid-friendly music series.
