As we begin to thaw out from winter’s unrelenting brutality (hopefully!), there are six terrific concerts for you to enjoy alongside your kids featuring a mix of local and out-of-town bands, and one brilliant evening of youthful song and discussion with a pair of musical heavyweights for you to have fun sans children.

Dan Zanes & Wesley Stace Performance + Book Discussion (for adults)

When: Fri., Mar. 14, 7:30 p.m.

Where: Greenlight Bookstore, 686 Fulton St., Fort Greene, Brooklyn

Cost: Free

One of kindie rock's brightest lights and a novelist / musician who's been a shining star on the U.K. and U.S. singer-songwriter circuits for decades team up for an evening of musical performance and a discussion of Stace's new book Wonderkid which uses the burgeoning world of kindie rock as backdrop for a hilarious fictional yarn. Stace will repeat this format on Mar. 28 at the Bookstore Cafe with The Walkmen's Walter Martin, who himself is releasing a debut family album We're All Young Together this spring.

It’s another month of awesome concerts; will you be attending any with your little rock stars?
