With major city landmarks like the Empire State Building and Grand Central Station along with unique playspaces, there’s plenty to keep you busy for a day or more. Check out the following guide to Murray Hill to discover great activities, shopping, food and more that the whole family will enjoy.

Grab a Bite at Duke's Original Roadhouse

Murray Hill can sometimes seem as if it’s teeming with frat bros and sorority sisters and the bars that serve them. And while these are definitely neighborhood fixtures, the area has plenty of family-friendly restaurants as well. A favorite is Duke’s. A bit Tex-Mex, kind of Louisiana-ish, with lots of Southern-style cooking. Kids adore this place. Burgers, chicken fingers, fries, pulled pork, mac ‘n cheese, plus plenty of root beer, sweet deserts and grown-up options. Seat yourself inside, or grab an outdoor table so you can watch life pass by on busy Third Avenue.
