Culinary Kids Food Festival at NYBG
The kids are off of school and the Garden’s Edible Academy Initiative is hosting a weeklong food festival complete with cooking demos, recipes, hands-on activities, music and tasting. Visit the Tip-Top Pickle Shop, explore the process of cheese-making, see the art of bread-making from seed to loaf, take a sensory journey to learn the origin of spices and learn to grow your own food. Green Bean Bash Nature Party
The Horticultural Society of New York will be hosting their 2nd Annual fun-for-all-ages Green Bean Bash. Join the party for a hands-on afternoon with nature: exploring carnivorous plants, worm bins, relay races, music and much more. Sat., 3 p.m.- 5 p.m. Upper East Side. $50/adults, $35/kids. Baby’s First Musical
Think you can’t take an infant to the theater? Think again! This [Baby] Life, a sweet contemporary dance piece, is designed just for the 18 months and under set. Curse on Summit Rock Interactive Show
This clever 30-minute show is fun way to teach your children about protecting environment. When a greedy developer wants to build a candy store on Central Park’s Summit Rock, concerned citizens scare him away by pretending Summit Rock is haunted. Create a 3D Tunnel Book
It’s family day at the Center for Architecture Foundation and today’s workshop will help kids create a 3D “tunnel book” celebrating NYC. Kids will use a variety of materials and architectural images. BAMkids Film Festival
The 16th annual BAMkids Film Festival is here. The all-star weekend features shorts, full-length films, live performances, filmmaker Q & As and more – all geared towards kids ages 2 and older.
