Tiles in NYC Art Workshop
Learn about the tiles found all over the city from the Bronx Zoo’s elephant house to Carnegie Hall, in the Museum of the City of New York’s exhibit Palaces for the People: Guastavino and the Art of Structural Tiles. Then, kids will use that inspiration to design their own tiled picture frame in this drop-in workshop. Sun., 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Upper East Side. Free. Casus Contemporary Circus
Called Australia’s hottest new contemporary circus, the show, Knee Deep, is jam-packed with extraordinary skill and strength. Around the World with CMA: Irish Festival
St. Patrick’s Day may be over, but you can still celebrate the Irish at this Children’s Museum of the Arts festival. It will feature live dance performances, music performances, and hands-on workshops that highlight Irish cultures, including Irish dance and fiddle performances and boat-making workshops, among many others. There will also be a temporary exhibition of children’s artwork selected by the Consulate General of Ireland. Sat. & Sun., 10 a.m.-5 p.m. West Village. ‘Play, Said the Earth to the Air’ Performance
If you’re familiar with the Richard Lewis poem, Play, Said the Earth to the Air, you’ll recognize this interactive performance piece. Put on by the Touchstone Center Theatre Ensemble, this show invites kids to experience play through mime, narration, music and movement. Prospect Park Carousel Opening Weekend
