This weekend is non-stop festival fun! Love music? The Frolic Rock ‘n’ Roll carnival is a must. Crazy for animals? Hit the Prospect Park Zoo’s Fleece Festival. On a Wing
Get ready to meet a flock of fantastic feathered friends at this special program that departs from Belvedere Castle Terrace. Birds of prey will fly under your arms in the Tunnel of Talons, you’ll meet rescued birds and discover facts about local bird residents. You’ll even learn about other winged-wonders: butterflies, including the Monarchs that migrate through the Park every year. There will be wing-themed crafts and a guided bird walk too. Let the Colors Roar! Family Day for Jack Goldstein
See fireworks of color burst off a canvas and watch a lion roar. Enter the realm of artist Jack Goldstein and let your imagination soar. Experiment with painting techniques in our art studio, create an iridescent puppet character, hear the live music of Jukebox Radio and experience magical shadow performances. Sun., 12:00 pm. Spring Kids Fest 2013
The Madison Square Park Conservancy, Time Out Kids and World Class Learning Academy, NY are putting together an awesome Springs Kids Fest. Entertainment, crafts, food, games, face painting, a Rolie Polie Guacamole and Songs for Seeds concert and so much more is on tap at this outdoor just-for-kiddos festival. Sat., 10:30 am – 1:30 pm. Caribbean Cultural Festival
Celebrate Caribbean culture at the Children’s Museum of the Arts with Haitian musician Bonga and his band. Dancers from La Troupe Zetwal and Cumbe will perform. It’s that time of year again! The Prospect Park Zoo’s sheep are in need of a haircut and you can watch the shearing at 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm. Frolic Rock ‘n’ Roll Carnival
Frolic! and the Brooklyn Bowl are putting a fun twist on the traditional kiddie carnival. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Carnival will feature performances by the Little Rock-its by Frolic!, Tim and the Space Cadets, Mario the Magician and even storytime with Wesley Schultz of The Lumineers.
