If you’re lucky enough to have crossed the American Museum of National History’s “Night at the Museum” sleepover off your list, congrats. (If not, add it to the family “bucket list.”) Either way, that’s hardly the only sleepover in town. You and the kids can sleep like royalty in a cathedral, a sailor on an aircraft carrier, a scientist in not one, but two museums, and more. For Air & Sea Fans: Intrepid Operation Slumber

Plenty of adults (i.e. members of the armed forces) have slept on the Intrepid aircraft carrier, and now it's the kids' turn. The Intrepid Sea Sea, Air & Space Museum hosts Operation Slumber several times throughout the year. Kids ages 6 to 17 take part in educational activities during the overnight including a visit to the Space Shuttle Pavilion, a flashlight tour of the flight deck and (unlimited!) rides in a 4D flight simulator. Snacks and breakfast are provided, as is a T-shirt souvenir and a pass to come back in daylight hours to enjoy the museum.
