Khmer Arts Ensemble
Introduce your kids to the art of dance with this family-oriented performance followed by a special opportunity to meet the artists. Led by acclaimed choreographer and dancer Sophiline Cheam Shapiro, whose cutting-edge classicism makes you feel as if you’ve crossed over to another world, Khmer Arts Ensemble will perform the New York premiere of A Bend in the River, a contemporary telling of a traditional tale of love, heartbreak, magic, vengeance, consequence and redemption. La Mama Kids offers a series of creative theater workshops for kids and this one hosted by Juila Martin explores what happens when a magical pot doubles everything that is discovered. City Stomp Benefit Concert
If you haven’t seen City Stomp in concert yet, know that their playlist includes songs that celebrate NYC’s vibrant culture, sights and sounds, including some in Spanish, along with upbeat versions of kid’s classics. This concert will benefit the Hopes & Heroes Children’s Cancer Fund, which funds the Herbert Irving Child & Adolescent Oncology Center at Columbia University Medical Center.
