Music, dance, building projects and more are on tap this weekend. Start the weekend with a Friday Family Jam at the Brooklyn Children’s Museum. Saturday you can participate in a family LEGO building challenge at the Bronx Zoo or learn about bridges and build a model to take home. Is dancing more your thing? Check out the Greek Family Dance in Battery Park. Sunday rock out to The Suzi Shelton Band at the Hip Tot Music Festival or head to the New York Botanical Garden for a foodie (and kid-friendly) feast created by the chefs from Del Posto and Esca.
Botanical Garden Family Dinner
Here’s a foodie dinner your kids won’t get bored at! Join Chef Mark Ladner from Del Posto and Chef Dave Pasternack from Esca for a Mario Batali al fresco Family Dinner in the New York Botanical Garden’s Ruth Rea Howell Family Garden. You and your kids can explore the interactive bed of veggies and herbs used at Mario’s restaurants, participate in crafts and gardening activities and then see your meal being cooked live in front of you using fresh, seasonal ingredients. LEGO Safari Family Challenge
Right now The Wild Forest: A LEGO Safari is on display at the Bronx Zoo, featuring giant and truly amazing LEGO sculptures of zebras, gorillas, flamingos and other exotic wildlife. Today, you can take part in a special program with LEGO Master Builder Dan Steiniger. You’ll compete with other families to see who can build an animal from LEGO bricks first. Kindie rock local favorite The Suzi Shelton Band is headlining this fun family event at Littlefield NYC.
