Whether you’re in the mood for festive holiday-themed events or if you’d rather take a break from all the Christmas and Hanukkah madness, we’ve got a great lineup of kids events for you this weekend. There’s nothing like a good Christmas sing-a-long to get you in the spirit and Dan Zane is hosting one at City Winery this weekend. If you want to see Santa, he’s being rescued in a fun annual event at the New York City Fire Museum and he’ll also be on hand for photos at Fort Greene’s Santa’s Village. Other fun options include an Eat Like a Rainbow concert, a fairytale mash-up puppet performance and a mythical storytelling hour at the Scandinavia House.
The Princess, the Frog and the Pea
What do you get when you combine three classic European fairytales and a puppet show? Find out today as Goat on a Boat presents a unique and funny adventure in puppetry told in French and performed in English by Liz Joyce. Sat., 3:15 pm. UES. $10 for adults, $7 for children. Hans Christian Andersen Storytellers

FDNY Annual Santa Rescue
Have your kids ever wondered if Santa gets stuck going down a chimney? Well, today, Santa needs to be rescued from the New York City Fire Museum’s roof and your kids can watch FDNY firefighters get the job done. Once he is brought to safety, Santa will pose for photos (bring your camera!) and the John Clacher Band will be on hand to perform carols. There will even be snacks and hot cocoa. Holiday Sing-a-Long with Dan Zanes
Get in the holiday spirit with a holiday sing-a-long at City Winery. Dan Zanes and Friends are presenting a fun concert and dance party to celebrate the release of his new CD Christmas in Concord. Expect special guests and take home a songbook. Sat., 11:00 am. Tribeca. $20. All ages. Event details.
Join Habana Outpost and My Brooklyn Baby for the 2nd annual Santa’s Village! Eat Like a Rainbow
Jay Mankita, a Putumayo artist, will be at the Brooklyn Library performing songs from his award-winning album, Eat Like a Rainbow. Kids can sing and dance along to a bevy of funky songs about fruits and veggies. Sat., 1:00 pm. Prospect Heights. Free. All ages. Event details.
