Your kids aren’t the only artists who can craft amazing things out of household items. Head to the World Financial Center this weekend to cast your vote in the enormously fun Canstruction Competition. The other big event this weekend is the BAMkids Film Festival 2013 – two full days of live performances and movie screenings. In the mood for music? See Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band at Symphony Space or try a concert and yoga class mash-up featuring Bari Koral. Another performance worth watching is the percussive movements of Soul Steps at the Brooklyn Central Library. You can also celebrate the Chinese New Year at the Museum of Chinese in America.

There’s a good chance you’ll be shaking your hips and boppin’ your head right along with your kid at this performance by the award-winning singer/songwriter Lucky Diaz and his band. Canstruction Competition
Get ready to see some amazing, enormous art in this cool competition that kicks off on Friday. Twenty-five teams of architects, engineers, contractors and students will work together to build giant-sized sculptures made of unopened food cans in this unique competition on display for all to see. Bari Koral Musical Yoga
Family recording artist Bari Koral is coming to Karma Kids Yoga for a musical yoga hour filled with singing, dancing and downward dogs set to some of her top songs. Express Your Inner Snake
