Spend the day on the Hudson at this annual festival. Cruise the river on a historic ship, learn to ride a bike (AND get a free helmet!), visit with some furry friends at the pet adoption center, enjoy a puppet show, dance to live music, fill up on delicious food and more. 33rd Annual Hippo Spring Fair
An Upper West Side institution, The Hippo Playground Spring Fair features pony rides, bouncy castles, a petting zoo, games, prizes, crafts, food, entertainment and more. So head to the park and celebrate the season! Sun. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Riverside Park. Free. Ages 2-6. Event details.
Kids Night Out at Karma Kids
Drop your little yogis off for fun yoga games, hooping and a super fun dance party! After working up an appetite, your kiddos will enjoy some delicious pizza, juice and cookies while watching The Good Dinosaur on their big wall. Then one more high energy glowing dance party to expel any last bit of energy. Be sure to wear a little white or neon for extra glowability during the dance party! Fri. 6-8 p.m. Chelsea. $60/child. Ultimate Science Street Fair
The World Science Festival is taking over Washington Square Park with Street Science, a buzzing metropolis of science, technology, engineering, and mathematical explorations. Featuring awe-inspiring, interactive demonstrations, larger than life activities, mind-blowing experiments and live shows, this outdoor exhibition unleashes everyone’s inner scientist. Bring your little ones to a live theatrical performance based on E.B. White’s loving story of the friendship between a pig named Wilbur and a little gray spider named Charlotte. Sail Over to the Atlantic Cup
The Atlantic Cup is sailing into the Big Apple. Check out the boats, learn to tie knots and go on a sustainability scavenger hunt. Make sure to swing by the Marina Office between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., Wed. to Fri., and ask for Captain Dave, who will show your little sailors around. Catch a Flick at the Kids Film Festival
If you’re on the hunt for a “kid friendly” movie atmosphere, look no further! For one day, Kids Film Fest is coming to Brooklyn to entertain the little ones with short animations, live-action and documentary films for all ages, all films are rated G. There will even be Q&A with filmmakers, so your little movie lovers can get all their burning questions answered. Bonus: the theater will be FULL of kids, so no worries if your kiddos ask a few questions too loudly during the show too. Sat. 1 p.m. Dumbo. $12/adult; children 12 and under are free. All ages. Little Laffs, Big Fun for Little Ones

Figment NYC is a free, family friendly participatory arts event held in multiple cities each year. Every June, this traveling arts fest with its wild sculptures and fun activities lands on Governors Island, transforming it into a large-scale collaborative artwork.
