The Prospect Park Alliance kicks off the 150th anniversary celebration of Prospect Park, Brooklyn’s Backyard, with a full weekend of special events and festivities. Enjoy an opening day parade where Over 1,000 youth league players will parade down 7th Avenue in Park Slope led by local marching bands, watch the Brooklyn Atlantics play a historical baseball game following 1860 rules, stop in at a family fair at the Long Meadow Ball Field, go for one last skate around the ice skating rink at the Lefrak Center, take your first spin of the season on the Prospect Park Carousel and more! 14th Annual Colon Cancer Challenge and Kids Fun Run
Run, walk, celebrate, educate and inspire yourself at this annual race on Randall’s Island, not to mention the view is amazing! Your kiddos can start the day off with a race of their own at the Kids Fun Run, divided up by age, with races for little athletes as young as 2. All finishers will even receive a Finishers Medal. Then let your kiddos cheer you on as you run either the 5K that loops around the island and into the stadium or the Prevention & Remembrance Walk also looping around island with the final leg completed on the Track.
