Packed playgrounds, neighborhood communities, the best museums and theater for kids — and fellow parents who will clue you in on how to make it work here with little ones. Click through to see just a few of the reasons why we here at Red Tricycle are thankful to be parenting in the Big Apple.

Family Ties

For me, it's generational; my parents are from Brooklyn and their parents are from Brooklyn, and on my father's side even my great-grandparents were native New Yorkers. Even my husband is from New York City; he went to high school on the Upper East Side. I'm proud to follow in the footsteps of my grandparents and parents by raising my daughter in New York City. It's absolutely not easy to wheel a stroller around a bustling metropolis, but I love walking around such a diverse city and having my choice of playgrounds, stores, and restaurants to visit with my daughter. I can't promise we will stay here forever, but for now, we're home.
