Even if you missed the Mermaid Parade (it was June 17, and a pretty soggy affair), there’s still plenty of reasons to head to seaside fun spot Coney Island. In addition to the Cyclone celebrating a landmark birthday (90!) with a free boffo block party, you’ll also find new rides, new eats, new art — and all the old sun and sand favorites, too. Click through to see what’s happening on, and along, the boardwalk!

For Unlimited — and Even Free! — Rides

If you've got a kid who can't get enough of rides, check out the unlimited ride wristband at Luna Park, available for the first time this year. On weekdays, for those 48 inches tall and under, it's $29, and $49 for everyone over; weekends and holidays, it'll set you back $42 for a small person wristband, and $69 for those over 48 inches. (Individual ride credits go for $1, and most rides are three to four credits.)

For gratis rides, students in Kindergarten to college (!) can bring in their report card for free ride credits until the end of June. As get four free credits, Bs get three, and Cs get two. Luna Park — where it pays to be smart! (Note: the iconic Deno's Wonder Wheel and its affiliated attractions nestled among Luna Park's rides are not park of Luna Park.)
