Even in our pedestrian city, kids love getting their hands on big chunky vehicles of all shapes and sizes. If your tot was hailing taxis before his second birthday, you may want to add these seven places to your to-do list. You’ll discover the city’s collection of fire trucks, submarines, helicopters, excavators and other mind-blowing vehicles.

Dig In 14 Acres of Dirt

If your neighborhood sandbox isn’t cutting it this summer, plan a day trip to the newly constructed Diggerland USA opening summer 2014. This construction-themed adventure park lets your little earthworms drive, ride and operate tractors, mini dumpers, excavators, land rovers and more in a dirty and safe family-friendly environment. While most rides require kids be at least 42-inches tall to ride, a special kid-zone caters to tots as young as 2 years old. Even mom and dad can get their hands dirty with life-size diggers and amusement rides.

Insider’s Tip: It’s located behind Sahara Sam’s Oasis indoor and outdoor water park so bring your swimsuit for a full day of fun.
