The 1950’s were all about good, old-fashioned American fun. It was poodle skirts, lettered jackets and meeting up at the neighborhood ice cream parlors. Half a century later, these chill meet-up spots are thankfully still aplenty and open to make your sweet tooth’s whipped cream dreams come true. Get ready for a spoonful of nostalgia as your flip through the coolest spots for serving up retro root beer floats and vintage vanilla sundaes in America.

Brooklyn Farmacy – Brooklyn, Ny

In 2010 Brooklyn Farmacy opened in a restored 1920’s apothecary, fully equipped with tin ceilings, old-time knick-knacks and bow-tied soda jerks serving cola syrup made from scratch over a 20 foot marble counter. Yup, this place screams "authentic". More than just a family trip out for ice-cream, an outing to Brooklyn Farmacy is a history lesson of how things used to be, glitz and glamour included. The kiddos will love sipping shakes at the counter while they get a front row seat to the mirror-backed fountain.
