The school year is almost in the books and that means your kiddo is about to embark on a months-long learning-less vaycay––or not. PBS KIDS recently announced a summer-time lineup of new shows and new web-based fun that is bound to keep everyone happy for the season.

PBS KIDS kicks off the summer with its new animated children’s series Molly of Denali and a new special from Ready Jet Go! Along with the show debuts, PBS KIDS for Parents is bringing moms and dads a new website with articles, tips and show-connected activities galore.

If you’re not sure how to help your out-of-school littles learn over the summer, the new PBS KIDS for Parents site has thousands of free resources. Along with articles and other info, the site also includes “Camp PBS KIDS.” This online area allows kids and parents to explore topics ranging from world cultures to cooking with math together.

When it comes to summer series, the newest member of the PBS KIDS family, Molly of Denali, premiers and streams on pbskids.org as well as the PBS KIDS Video app on Jul. 15. As the first U.S. children’s series to feature a Native American lead, the show follows young Molly Mabary on all kinds of exciting adventures.

The 10-year-old, along with her dog Suki and friends Tooey and Trini, will help your little learner (ages four through eight) to develop knowledge-based skills by interacting with everything from historical texts to maps and charts. Extend the learning with the Molly of Denali app (which launches in August), digital games (in July) and a podcast prequel.

Fans of Ready Jet Go! Will enjoy the all-new Ready Jet Go!: One Small Step. The space-themed special debuts on PBS stations nationwide and starts streaming Jun. 17. Along with the special, PBS KIDS is also rolling out (also in June) the Ready Jet Go! Space Scouts app.

Check your PBS station’s local listings for more information on air dates and times.
