A new movie based on popular plastic figures? No it’s not another LEGO sequel. Long-time toy rival Playmobil is getting a movie of its very own and if the Playmobil movie trailer is any indication, this toy aisle competitor will give LEGO a run for its plastic money.

The new movie follows the adventures of human siblings Marla and her younger brother, Charlie, when they are magically transported into the world of Playmobil. Marla sets out to find Charlie and figure out how to get back home. Of course, along the way she meets a unique cast of Playmobil characters.

The film stars Harry Potter’s Daniel Radcliffe, as secret agent Rex Dasher, comedian Jim Gaffigan as food truck driver Del and Meghan Trainor as a fairy godmother, among others.

Playmobil, with its signature smiley-faced figures featuring c-shaped hands, is a German company established in 1974. While it hasn’t been around nearly as long as LEGO, it has offered the brick master some stiff (pun-intended) competition for 44 years.

Playmobil: The Movie hits theaters on Aug. 16, 2019.
