Your fave Pokémon are coming to the big screen—in a live-action way! Warner Bros. Pictures recently released the Detective Pikachu trailer and it’s even more amazing than we thought it could be.

In the world of Pokémon, these little creatures don’t normally talk—except for this little Pikachu, as the first trailer reveals. When Tim (played by Justice Smith) meets the fuzzy yellow creature, he hears way more than just the”Pika, Pika!” sounds most Pokémon fans are familiar with. Watch for yourself:

So what, or rather who, does Tim hear? If Pikachu’s voice sounds familiar to you, that’s because actor Ryan Reynolds is the actor voicing the iconic character. While you might spend the majority of the movie thinking Deadpool, it’s kind of cute that Reynolds is the comic talent behind these ridiculously cute—and apparently sassy—Pokémon. And we are all in for that!

In response to the release of the trailer, Reynolds tweeted, “I think we all know I’d wind up as a miniature detective repeatedly saying the same two words. Just didn’t think it’s be so soon. #PikaPika.” Yep. Well said!

The storyline features the new BFFs playing detective as they search for Tim’s kidnapped father. And of course, it includes plenty of action-packed Pokémon battles and hilarious hijinks.

POKÉMON Detective Pikachu opens in theaters on May 11, 2019.
