Your kids might be ready for a break from school but the idea of being at home for three weeks loses its magic after oh, about forty-eight hours. Lucky for us Portlanders, the city has no shortage of awesome winter camps for kids. Click through our slideshow to see a few of our all-time favorites. Just make sure to register early — You’re not the only parent out there who’ll be hearing “I’m bored!”
For the little artist: Camp Cactus
Highly accomplished (and super-cool) artist Jane Russell offers two to three-hour kids’ classes in her cozy home studio. Choose from a free-form “Drawing Studio;” “Design Your Own Tibetan Prayer Flags,” or the popular “Snow Village” workshop where kids create their own miniature paper houses to adorn the mantle. (A well-kept secret: Camp Cactus offers adult classes, too.)
Details: $25-$30/Check the website for class dates. (Ages 5 and up.)
