Take advantage of all that creativity floating around and craft some handmade gifts with your little ones. The following spots offer instruction and materials to make gifts like baby footprint-paintings and hand dyed silk scarves, as well as making the boxes for the gifts themselves. Mimosa Studios

“If you can hold a brush, you can paint,” is the official age policy at this bright, little shop. Even if your little ones are younger, you can bring them in to do hand or foot prints on just about anything using non-toxic paint. Price varies based on the size of the project, but small ornaments start at $5, and the price includes everything: basic instructions, paint, glazing, and firing. Don’t wait until the last minute on this one, though. You’ll need come back four days later to pick up your final product.
