Tryon Creek Trillium Festival
Learn all about these woodland springtime flowers at the Trillium Festival at Tryon Creek. Did you know that these plants can live up to 25 years? Learn more about flowers, soil, and critters at the Nature Stations while you explore the beautiful trails around the park. When you’re back at the center, shop the store for hiking guides, bird feeders, gifts, and more. Head home with your very own trillium to plant, or other plants from a local nursery.

Join the Water Resources Education Center in a spring field survey! This annual event invites anyone who wants to join in on a scientific expedition to count amphibians and reptiles. The day starts with a brief training sessions, then you’ll then you’ll head out to designated sites to spot frogs, snakes and lizards—all for the cause of science! Back at the center they can get a close-up look at even more live critters. Admission is free to the center every day—check out their other offerings with exhibits, gardens, educational info about sturgeons and salmons, and even a special toddler play area.

This Salem event aims to bridge to gap between urban and farm life, to help people better understand where their food and more is coming from. Kids will love the chance to see pet farm animals, see sheep get sheared, ride ponies, dig for potatoes, and more! And parents will love the fact that kids 12 and under get free admission, AND almost all the activities are free of charge, as well. It’s a super fun day for the whole family!

Wizard World Comic Con
This national comic book convention is coming to Portland and bringing some star power! Kids under 10 enter free with adult admission, and both adults and kids can enter their own costume contest. You’ll also find panels, exhibitors, artists, and autographs of celebrities from movies like Stranger Things, Guardians of the Galaxy, Justice League, and Harry Potter.

Wooden Shoe Tulip Fest
Every year thousands of tulips bloom in the fields of Woodburn, making the perfect setting for a spring festival to remember! Bring the family out for a spring stroll anytime!

Rock and Gem Show
This annual show is a chance for the Mt. Hood Rock Club to show off their amazing finds of fossils, gemstones, and minerals. The public gets their own chance to see jewelry-making demonstrations, exhibits, thundereggs, and Oregon agates. Kids get their very own area with games and activities for fun. To top it all off, every kid gets their own free rock to take home!
