Ever wonder how Nemo’s deep-sea digs were created? Or how a bug’s eye view was created for A Bug’s Life?

You’ll learn just that at OMSI’s The Science Behind Pixar. The interactive exhibit pulls the curtain back on the animation process behind Toy StoryMonsters, Inc., and other all-time faves. Here’s why the whole family will want to go:

  • Get an up-close look at each of the steps that go into making those endearing characters come to life and listen to first-hand accounts from members of the studios’ production team.
  • Dozens of hands-on stations allow you to give rigging, lighting, set design, and other skills a whirl. You’ll also love that you’re sneaking in a dose of STEAM-based learning along the way.
  • Can’t resist a photo op? Then sidle up beside life-size recreations of Buzz Lightyear and his cohorts and strike a pose.

The Science Behind Pixar runs from Feb. 23 to Sept. 2. For tickets, go to omsi.edu.

Now get ready to step into the action.
