4th Annual Season’s Eatings: Benefit for Oregon Food Bank
Join small batch food and beverage artisans for this annual food drive, providing hundreds of pounds of food to Oregon families during the holidays. Sample specialty cocktails in New Deal’s tasting room as well as other nibbles and bevvies, then shop for holiday gifts of spirits, gourmet cheeses, chocolates, craft brews and holiday baskets from Pok Pok SOM Drinking Vinegars, Tails and Trotters, Water Avenue Coffee, Briar Rose Creamery, Alma Chocolate, Unbound Pickling and others.  Don’t forget to bring a can of food or two for the Oregon Food Bank. Sat., 12-6 p.m., Free, All Ages. Crafty Wonderland Super Colossal Holiday Sale
This annual craftastic shopping event only happens this weekend and features handmade, affordable and hip gifts from more than 250 local artists.  Find items including stationery, jewelry, silk-screened t-shirts, wallets and belts made of bike tubes, fuzzy hats, ceramics, chocolates and scented soaps. Joy Now to the World
Join MarchFourth Marching Band as they kick off the second year of their after school program, offering circus, music and life skills training for kids, ages 5-18. This special night of music will feature the all-women’s ukulele ensemble, The Ukuladies, as well as Bollywood beats by DJ Anjali and The Joy Now Marching Band with members of MarchFourth. The event is a fundraiser for their scholarship program, which makes the program available to all youth and will also include a silent auction, raffle and a holiday bazaar. 23rd Annual Tuba Christmas Concert
Take a break from your downtown shopping to check out this quirky tradition that began in Rockefeller Center’s ice skating rink in New York City in 1974 to honor the late artist and teacher, William J. Bell. As 250 powerful tubas play the festive holiday carols by the tree in the square, spectators are encouraged to belt out the tunes in an interactive sing-along. Portland Symphonic Girlchoir Jingle Bear Family Concert
Girls ranging in age from 5 to 18 will celebrate the season with a choir concert, Jingle Bear Family Concert, “Visions of Sugar Plums.” The performance will include a wide range of songs, including Antiphonal Alleluia, Kodaly’s Christmas Dance of the Shepherds, Britten’s Night Song from “The Little Sweep”, Sing Hodie, Noel, and Patapan, as well as favorites from “Grinch” and “Elf”.  Sat., 3 – 4:30 p.m., $17/person, All Ages. Evergreen Santa Fly-In
The Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum is welcoming Santa Claus to its campus for fun-filled holiday activities. Santa will show off his new and improved sleigh – an Evergreen helicopter – by flying into Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum to greet those both naughty and nice, take photos and snack on delicious cookies.
