Let’s all sing a heartfelt Happy Birthday to our super cool state! Oregon turns 152 on February 14th and The Oregon Historical Society is celebrating by offering free admission on Sunday. There’s also lots of musical performances to experience this weekend: the Oregon Renaissance Band and the Jewish Community Orchestra Young Artists Showcase, plus a couple sing alongs where you can be the performers—one with Tyleena Fairy Funk Mother and the other which includes sign language. Head to the Rose Garden for the adrenaline-rush fun of a Monster Jam, or to Portland Waldorf School for a little sophistication at a Valentine’s tea party. Finally, there’s a family and kids festival in Hillsboro and a chance to explore like Lewis and Clark in Silverton.

Still haven’t gotten around to helping your little artist create Valentines for their friends and loved ones? Here’s a roundup of free Valentine-making events happening this weekend. Simply show up and the organizers will provide all the materials needed. Easy peasy!
