Lots of interesting and varied things to do in Portland with kids this weekend—something for everyone! For starters, there are several theatrical performances to choose from. Disney Live! presents “Mickey’s Magic Show” at the Rose Garden, the Oregon Children’s Theatre has the world premiere of the musical “Diary of a Worm, a Spider, and a Fly,” Theatre In The Grove puts on “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day,” and Penny’s Puppet Productions performs “The Magic Book.” If you’re interested in learning how to play a musical instrument, head to Jam Night on Friday evening, or if you’re into learning about reptiles (or even purchasing one from a reputable Northwest breeder), the Portland Metro Reptile Expo is sure to delight. Finally, there are three family-oriented community events happening: Castle on the Court at Southwest Community Center in Portland, Winter Family Fun Fest at Mittleman Jewish Community Center in Portland, and Model Trains with Beaverton Modular Railroad Club at Lake Oswego Public Library.
