Superhero Day at the PCM
Send up the signal in the sky, it’s time for Superhero Celebration! Dust off your costume and unite with other cape crusaders at the museum. Meet out-of-this-world guests, Portland Superhero Coalition, catch a puppet show of heroic proportions, and participate in a variety of fun activities to test your superhuman powers. Kids Cook Class at PSU Farmer’s Market
Your junior chefs can get a real taste of summer by learning to cook with fresh market ingredients. Classes are taught by Arielle Clark of the Portland Kitchen Inc., and Julie Merry of The Merry Kitchen and include a market shopping trip, hands-on instruction and recipes to take home so students can share what they learn with family and friends. The Royal Rosarians Milk Carton Boat Race
Inventive boaters take to the casting pond in Westmoreland Park on watercrafts they’ve fashioned from old milk containers. Free to race or watch! Sun., 11 a.m.-2 p.m. SE. Free. All ages. Event details.

The Amazing Acro-cats
This troupe of real house cats will jump and pounce right into your heart! Reaching out to shelters in need and accepting cats found homeless in the streets, show creator, Samantha Martin, has not only rescued her own cats but has found homes for over 172 cats and kittens. Giving them a second chance with positive reinforcement-only clicker training, they take these amazing abilities on the road and tour the nation in the infamous Acro-cat Bus! Sensational Superhero Academy
Head to Green Bean Books to enroll in Sensational Superhero 101 Academy where you can learn to be the superhero you’ve always dreamed of being. Read superhero stories, play superhero games and make your own cape and mask. There will even be a kryptonite scavenger hunt in the garden.
