There are so many ways to celebrate Father’s Day this weekend around Portland—and some of the better ones involve packing the kids into the car and heading out of town. You don’t have to drive far to get to the fun (think Edgefield or Rooster Rock) and the short trip will be well worth it. Do you love Oregon strawberries almost as much as dear ol’ dad? The Berry Jam Festival is a sure sign that our beloved berries are ripe for the picking. And the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum has an action-packed lineup of weekend activities and ways to salute stellar fathers.

In Town

CHAP Opening: Art + Food-A-Thon
Olympic Provisions, Mio Sushi, Ben & Jerry’s and other vendors are gearing up to celebrate CHAP’s new art factory–which makes it a great time for you to find out what SHAP is all about. Father’s Day Sushi and a Shave
Bring Dad to Yakuza for sushi and drink specials. Then he can lather up for a straight-edge shave courtesy of Rooks Barbershop or get a 15-minute chair massage, followed by a soak in Yakuza’s secret outdoor hot tub. Kids can order from the 1-2-3 Kids Happy Hour Menu, then head upstairs to play. Sun, opens at 5:00 pm, reservations required, prices vary, all ages. Event details.
