Check Out Family Saturday with an African American Twist
Families are invited to a free all-ages program that focuses on culture and diversity in Oregon. Please join the Oregon Black Pioneers and the Oregon Historical Society for a Family Saturday celebrating Racing to Change: Oregon’s Civil Rights Years exhibit, on view now through June 24. Join Kidical Mass PDX Southwest!
Kidical Mass is riding in Southwest Portland! This 3 mile loop is short, flat ride from Gabriel Park to the Alpenrose velodrome, Pendleton Park, and back to a corner with burritos and frozen yogurt across the street from the start point, the playground at Southwest 42nd & Vermont. They ride at a slow pace for little pedalers. Kids should wear a helmet, be able to ride in a straight line, start and stop. Cargo bikes, trikes, tandems, trailers and tag-a-longs are great too. Sun. Take the Family Tour at the Portland Art Museum
Explore the Museum with a docent skilled in bringing art to life. Public tours depart from the Park Avenue entrance. Tours are free for members or with Museum admission, and free for children age 17 and younger. Sun Event Details.

It’s the festival every child big and small looks forward to! The Rose Festival starts Memorial Day Weekend! Rose Festival overtakes Waterfront Park with rides, games, exhibits, drinks and food, and entertainment on three stages. Other highlights include the Jim Neill Memorial Museum, Eastside Distilling Lounge and interactive exhibits, and much more! Go From the Mundane to the Magnificent
Portland’s favorite narrative circus invites you to enjoy an evening of magic: Inspired by Vera Stanley Alder’s “From the Mundane to the Magnificent”, Petra Delarocha & Kerri Jonquil use beautiful aerial, physical theater, and dance to tell the story of parallel dimensions and what’s really happening when you think you’re being boring.
