Did you know that Portland has a puppet museum? Ping Pong Puppet Theatre is the first (and only) one in PDX. This weekend you can catch a collection of fanciful Eastern creations there. Or see puppets in action: Tears of Joy Theatre brings the epic Greek tale Adventures of Perseus to life on a large stage and showcases Raven Steals the Sun in a more intimate library setting. Also, most local schools are closed on Monday, Nov. 12 for Veterans’s Day. It’s a perfect time to visit the Japanese Garden with your children—the garden is offering free admission all day.
