Community Music Center

Located in SE near Powell and 33rd, Community Music Center is run by Portland Parks & Recreation in partnership with nonprofit Community Music Center, Inc. CMC prides itself on offering affordable music lessons to all ages and abilities, including helpful resources such as instrument rentals and free or low-cost workshops. An online catalog offers a wide variety of lesson options, with private or shared private string lessons being among the most popular. Students of CMC are given a comprehensive musical experience, and encouraged to participate in a group ensemble at a discounted rate if they are already receiving private instruction. A sliding tuition scale and need-based scholarships make CMC accessible to all who seek a music education.
