Before scooters, skateboards and rollerblades, there were roller skates. Introduce your kids to some old school fun at an indoor roller rink. Here are five fab places to take a spin.
We know ‘em, we love ‘em. During the winter weeks when it is too cold to roller coast or tilt-a-whirl, Oaks Park rolls some Chipper’s Preschool Play and Skate for the six and unders and on the weekend it is all about Kids Morning Skates for those aged 10 and below. Oaks Park offers lessons from a pro, a stretch, roller skating games and plenty of room to practice either before hitting the big rink or run around after they’ve grown bored.
The details: $6 per kiddo, adults free (street shoes and strollers a-ok on the wood rink as well). Many sizes and styles or skates are available for rent including those Fisher Price ones that fit over shoes and don’t roll backwards.
