You’ve picked berries at them in June, watched peaches ripen in August, and are gearing up for babies-on-pumpkins in October. There are so many farms near Portland, even if you go to two farms a week, you still won’t hit them all in a year! Over 100 farms nearby to visit, all offering unique produce, farm animals, and more. You can combine several farms into an all-day tour of one area, or just head out to a single one. Read on for six fantastic farm loops to visit!

Sauvie Island

Fourteen farms and nurseries make up the rolling hills of the largest island in the Columbia. Though only 30 miles away from Portland, it feels farther. Some of the most popular farms of the season can be found here, from Kruger’s to the Pumpkin Patch to Bella Organics. With big names come big crowds, so families looking for a quieter farm experience might want to push on further into the 18 mile island loop. But no matter where you go, you’ll find some perfect produce and a rolicking time!
