Here at Red Tricycle, it’s not about the candy. Nope, it’s the wigs, sequins, and face paint that really get us going on Halloween. Every year we are wowed by all the jaw-dropping homemade costumes out there; many are made by Red Tricycle readers! We’ve collected our favorite ideas below—flip through the slideshow below for some spook-tacular inspiration.

We want to hear from you! Show us an amazing ensemble you put together — just send a photo to our National Editor (gabby@redtri.com), along with your child’s name and age, and we’ll add your creation to our story!

KFC Cutie

Red Tricycle writer Amalie’s favorite holiday is Halloween and her love of all things Kentucky (her home state) has inspired her son Augie’s costume every year. Last year, this KFC get up brought the whole family in on the act.

If you’d like to showcase your DIY kids costume, send a photo with your kids name and age to our National Editor (gabby@redtri.com) and we’ll publish our favorites.

Let us know in the comment section below what your kids are wearing this year for Halloween!
