Bad news for frank ‘n bean-lovers: Bush Brothers & Co. just issued a massive recall on select cans of its baked beans.
The recall applies to certain 28 ounce cans of Bush’s Brown Sugar Hickory Baked Beans, Country Style Baked Beans and Original Baked Beans. Bush said in a statement that the recall is due to “potentially defective side seams.” Anyone who has any affected cans is being advised to return them to the store or discard them, even if the beans don’t seem spoiled.
To determine if your cans are part of the recall, look at the UPC and lot codes (located on the side and top of the can).
Recalled Brown Sugar Hickory Baked Beans have a UPC of 0 39400 01977 0 and a container lot code of 6097S GF or 6097P GF and a best-by date of June 2019.
Recalled Country Style Baked Beans have a UPC of 0 39400 01974 9 and container lot code of 6077S RR, 6077P RR, 6087S RR, 6087P RR and a sell-by date of June 2019.
