Let’s face it: parenthood isn’t all about finding the cutest outfit, the yummiest cupcake, or the best weekend street festival. There are some not-so-fun parts, too, and we’re not just talking dirty diapers and cleaning up underneath the highchair. Issues such as raising a strong-willed child, deciding how to discipline, and dealing with your child’s anger (or your own!) can be daunting, but Jewish Family and Children’s Services’ Parents Place classes and groups foster a constructive environment for tackling the tough stuff.
Are you a single parent, parent of a special needs child, or going through a divorce or separation while caring for a young child? Parents Place has a support group perfect for you, or can refer you to a counselor for one-on-one help. There are some lighter classes in the mix as well, such as Infant Massage, Baby Sign Language, Prepping for Preschool, and Boogie to the Beat (a lively dance class with ribbons, bubbles, and parachute activities). As the oldest social services center in the Bay Area (with centers in Marin, San Francisco, the Peninsula, and Sonoma County), they work with people of all backgrounds and faiths. JFCS Parents Place is one of the most trusted institutions in the Bay Area for taking care of our families. Help is here, just reach out for it.
