On your mark, get set, hike! The Presidio YMCA is hosting it 5th Annual Presidio Y Trail Run. This unique and challenging trail winds its way through the Presidio trail system past Inspiration Point overlook, Presidio Golf Course, Rob Hill Campground and more. Hop on a USS Hornet Overnight Adventure
Families can go on the ultimate overnight adventure on the historic aircraft carrier the USS Hornet. They can explore the decks from the Captain’s bridge to the engine room. Kids and adults can see what it was like to live aboard a floating city while trying it out for one night. Go For A Wild Food Walk in the East Bay
Shhh, ForageSF walks for beginner or veteran foragers are held in secret locations in East Bay parks, which are emailed to participants a week prior to each class. These two hour adventures are led by Kevin Feinstein, author of “The Bay Area Forager” and “Crash Course in Wild Mushroom Foraging,” who has been teaching the wild food walks for for more than five years. Participants will learn about the most commonly found wild foods, edible flowers and medicinal plants around the Bay Area. Sat. Event details.

The Cherry Blossom Festival is Blooming in Cupertino
The Cherry Blossom Festival honoring Cupertino’s sister city of Toyokawa, Japan, is an annual event held at Memorial Park each April. This event offers a wide selection of Japanese food and beverages, entertainment, demonstrations, cultural exhibits, art, crafts and clothing for sale. Drift To A Maritime Festival
Ahoy! Sail on over to the San Mateo County History Museum for its 12th Annual Maritime Day. The event highlights the “Charles Parsons’ Ships of the World” exhibit gallery that features 24 model ships hand crafted by expert model maker Charles Parsons. Children will be invited to design their own model ships, make cargo, create miniature lighthouses and learn about knot tying. Yeah, we said poop. And since this class contains the word poop, it pretty much locks it up for kids. Little gardeners ages 3-5 will head out into the farm and collect gardening necessities including, yes, poop. Kids will learn about soil, poop and making compost and the connection to growing everything from fruits and veggies to making milk and ice cream. This is One Fairy Cool Festival
Families are invited to experience the magic of this year’s Garden Faire at Edna Maguire Elementary School. Garden fairies will be on hand to help guests enjoy favorite butterfly themed crafts and games, such as fairy house building, creating potions, wreath making, hunting for golden eggs, nibbling on donut trees and bobbing for apples. Other activities will include face painting, hair extensions, and henna tattoos.
