MLK2020 Commemorative March & Parade
Walk side by side with thousands in commemorating the Selma to Montgomery, Alabama marches as well as the Voting Rights Act of 1965 with a march from San Francisco’s Caltrain station to the Yerba Buena Gardens. This year’s theme is “The Time for Justice.” Mon. Event details

Celebrate 30 Years of Sea Lions at PIER 39
January marks the 30th Anniversary of the world-famous sea lions’ arrival to PIER 39. To commemorate, PIER 39 and Aquarium of the Bay will launch the “Sea Lions in San Francisco” initiative in January where thirty local artists will paint six-foot-tall sea lion statues. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service
The East Bay Park District will be celebrating its annual Day of Service that continues Dr. Martin Luther King Junior’s vision to improve lives, bridge social barriers and move our nation closer together to the beloved community. Volunteers will assist staff in shoreline litter cleanup, restoration work and invasive plant removal in order to support and care for wildlife and their natural habitats. Wheels on the Bus
Inspired by the ever-popular book and song of the same name, Wheels on the Bus introduces small theatregoers to the people who work in their communities—a baker whom they can help by kneading “dough,” a teacher who leads them in the A-B-Cs and 1-2-3s, a veterinarian, a librarian and others—as they sing and dance their way through town. Mitzvah Day
