It’s Mother’s Day weekend, and we’ve rounded up events from around the Bay that will please both mama and child (and we all know a happy child makes for a happy mom!) From brunch at a Sonoma winery to wine tasting in your own backyard, busting out disco moves at the SF Zoo to an outdoor Hawaiian festival, there are dozens of ways to celebrate the joy of being a mom. Ride on!

San Francisco

Uncorked at Ghirardelli Square
Fancy a trip to wine country without leaving the city?Head to Ghirardelli Square’s Uncorked Wine Festival, where you’ll find tons of kids activities including arts and crafts, live music courtesy Noise Pop, Off the Grid food trucks, and more than 50 wineries to sample from. History for Half-Pints: Imagination
Be a part of the Dragon Master’s Mighty Labyrinth Quest: the world’s first interactive, choose your adventure live band. Help chose the story, roll the giant 20-sided die to determine where the quest takes you, help save the forest and ultimately, meet the wise Unicorn. You can also design your own World’s Fair, and make a scrapbook journal. Bring your own photos, newspaper clippings, and other memories to add. Mother’s Day Disco Party at the SF Zoo
Join Betty Jean the Bongo (African antelope) and her calf Pence (name for Hunter Pence) as the Zoo celebrates Mother’s Day 2015. The Zoo also will host “Baby Loves Disco,” a daytime disco party for kids in the Elinor Friend Playground (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) Also face painting, animation video making and a mini-soccer obstacle course, all free with admission. Mother’s Day 5K
Make room for that fabulous brunch with a little lace-up-and-go event at Crissy Field. Get together with the whole fam for a quick 5K run through Marin and Chrissy Field. (There’s a free, 15-minute kids run that kicks off at 9:45 a.m. as well). The Big Draw Chalk Festival
Artists of all ages can display their talents at this Chalk and Arts Festival that encourages folks to Chalk the Walk. For $20, your posse can get their own public street square (includes chalk). There will also be a community chalk mural section, live performances, face painting, henna, art contests, and cool local art displays like Take a Seat Poetry Chairs, and Artful Bouquets. Hawaiian May Day Festival
Grab your leis and shake out your hips, May Day is Lei Day! Introduce Mom and the whole family to a new cultural experience this Mother’s Day and head for the Alameda Fairgrounds for some Hula, music, which might include a Ukulele or two, and tasty Hawaiian cuisine.
