The East Bay is home to oodles of families, so it’s no wonder some of the very coolest museums for children are there, too. We’ve rounded up some of the best, from a center focused on video game creation to a bird lovers paradise to a spot for little scientists to put on their thinking caps. Click through to find out where little learners love to play in the East Bay.

African American Museum and Library

While the first floor of this museum is mostly research materials, the second floor houses rotate exhibits dedicated to the African American experience in California and the west. Be sure to keep an eye on their calendar for guest speakers and special events.
